Well, still working at my real job trying to pay for a van that I don't have time to run or when I do I barely make enough for the payment. 2 years later, do you guys still having loads for new owner operator? How is the business going?

Why not just get CDL and make guaranteed money? This expediting thing seems like you have to be committed to it 24/7 and run loads for .80 cents a mile while using your equipment and having bunch of other expenses. I average.75 cents a mile as a company driver. Getting 3500 miles a week and home every weekend. Plus no expenses coming out of my pay.

UPDATE ON THIS GPS. It is not for 18-wheeler semis. I found this out when I tried to input my vehicle dimensions. It wouldn't take them. At all. It kept reverting to dimensions typical of smaller trucks like six and ten-wheeler box trucks.

Hello Andre, what is your thought on the Freightliner Sprinter type vans?

When I graduated high school, my parents were generous and signed off on a van for me back in 2020. Unfortunately they made an uneducated purchase they got a dually sprinter. Now I cannot find work often the only times I’ve made good money is when I do subcontracting work at FedEx. I’m hemorrhaging money bc of that van. They are discouraging me from selling it bc I still have a year left to finish paying it off. I want quits in this business

I think there's some light at the end of this tunnel. Construction in the industrial /commercial sector is starting to pickup after nearly 3-4 yrs of stagnation here in western NY for example. More fulfillment & warehouse upgrades to meet the next gen logistics is under way. % rates have been high, but the federal funds rate's expected to come down either later this year or 1st or 2nd quarter of fiscal '25 at the latest, so business's are proceeding forward on that healthy gamble & are continung with abandoned projects during the fluvid years. These % only variable payments will decrease over time making the gamble payoff. More sprinters & box trucks are out running & there's a spike in driver's wanted ads from cargo van & box truck carrier companies stationed down south who are gaining territory up north here along the NY/Ont border looking for drivers who want 2,000+ miles a week, as long as they are willing to be out a few weeks at a time along the East coast & Midwest. Cali will be dead last with some growth still ocuring in Nevada, but it appears that the mountain states are ready for an uptick in growth as well from my sources especially once certain industries (mining) can get the green light post Nov election after which Texas & the Gulf states should have the barriers to entry lifted with regards to permits & environmental loopholes. Lastly, these roads, bridges & new homes won't fix or build themselves. Mortgage rates come down & the good days will indeed return.

If you want to be the capt of your own ship and run under your own authority, you most definitely need a dot/mc number.. Carrier packets specifically ask for your credentials and if you don't provide that information it will show up as "failed" and you won't get a load.. You can run under someone else's credentials and be a contactor leased on to another company, but until you have your own authority you aren't an "owner operator".. I dont care who says you don't need a dot/mc number if your van gvwr is under 10001 pounds, these companies WILL NOT fuck with you without a dot/mc number... If you don't believe me then you can go try and see for yourself.. JS

And... What is the percentage of 1 load compare with 2,3, etc. in an one delivery?

Do you delivery only the express, single loads or you have 2-3 loads in one trip too? Maybe only in the USA makes sense(money) an one load. If nobody gives you good money for the delivery of one load, you search a second load, or even third... I have an experience (2-5 loads) in the one delivery. It's was hard every time. And it wasn't in the USA.
